People often wonder about the many practical applications of meditation, and how quickly they might manifest. Any practice usually requires time, effort and dedication, but there are ways to illustrate more immediate benefits.
In this session, we will run through alternating rounds of dialogue and seated meditation focused on specific issues each of us will bring, and watch and discern together as our understanding is enhanced, both individually and collectively.
As we do so, we will hopefully calm the swirling in our head, and highlight the grounding and centering benefits of meditation.
Attendees will receive instruction on the basics of Zazen, or seated Zen meditation. No prior experience is required or expected. Then we will have alternating rounds of dialogue and Zazen, allowing us to experience our shifting perspectives in close to real-time. As we do so, our consciousness and awareness will likely transpose, revealing new insights into our concerns.
