- Tell us a bit about you.
My name is Linda Tinson, and I live in Chicago. I’m most proud of the fact that I started from humble beginnings and am successfully thriving in my life. My superpower is that I am a really good friend and am considered dependable and reliable amongst those whom I care for. When I’m not meditating, I enjoy dancing.
- If you had a magic wand, how would you change the world?
If I had a magic wand I would wave it and ask that all people speak truth from their hearts and that we would genuinely care for/about our fellow human beings, the earth, and all its creature. If we took better care of each other, that would be reflected in the world which surrounds us.
- Why did you start meditating/practicing mindfulness and what keeps you returning to your practice?
I started what I know to be mediating in the early 80’s… it may have been earlier than that, but I really didn’t identify with the word “meditation” until then. I return to the practice of meditation because it is important to my physical and mental well-being.
- How does meditation affect your sense of belonging, community, and connection?
Meditation allows me to move out of my ego-self and connect with that something that I call the Divine Creator. When I’m truly connected, I can feel moments of oneness with everything, and it allows/helps me to move out of head (ego/thinking) and into my heart (feeling-self). When I can do that, I move out of my selfishness and sense the Divineness of each moment.
- What are your hopes for Be Meditation?
My hopes is to be part of a community of like-minded practitioners who support one another as we share our gifts/talents others in our local/global community.
