Wednesday, January 27th
9:15am- 10:45am PST / 12:15pm – 1:45pm EST
Calm, peaceful faces. Chimes. A curl of smoke from incense. Serenity. These are the popular images of meditation.
The reality is that these lovely, ethereal moments are only a part of the meditation experience. Meditation can also be awkward, funny, messy, and challenging. So, why do we do it?
Join host Leslie Irish Evans and her guest panelists for a discussion of their own true stories of meditation: how they started it, why they continue, and the challenges they’ve faced along the way. There’ll be juicy stories and plenty of laughs, and you’ll leave with a better sense of how meditation can be fun and even easy.
What we’ll do in this class:
-Experience a 5 minute guided meditation
-Hear from our panelists on the realities of meditation
-Open Q&A with our panelists. Bring your questions!
-Breakout rooms to solve your meditation questions and problems.
Leslie Irish Evans is an author, meditator, and baker. She began practicing meditation in 2003 in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, and in 2019 was certified in meditation instruction with The Open Heart Project. Her book Peeling Mom of the Ceiling: Reclaiming Your Life from Your Kids was an Amazon bestseller, and if you’re very nice to her she’ll probably bake you a cake.
